Overview
Love your morning cup of coffee even more by discovering what goes into a satisfying brew on a coffee tour. Stroll through the fields of a coffee farm on the slopes of Mountain Elgon, hearing stories of farmers who’ve worked the land, growing Arabica coffee enriched by volcanic ash. After plucking ripe, red berries with your own hands, you meet with professional roasters to create your own custom blend and enjoy your own cup. Embark on a journey off the beaten path to visit the tribes in Northeastern Uganda. Immerse yourself in the unique Karamojong culture in the Semi-arid region of Uganda with their traditional lifestyle.
Itinerary
Drive from Kampala / Entebbe to Sipi Falls with your driver guide after briefing. You will drive through unending spectacular views of sugar cane plantations, Mabira Forest and the Nile bridge which connects central to the Eastern part of Uganda. From here you connect to Mbale town to reach Sipi Falls in the afternoon.
On arrival, relax at the lodge by reading a book or take your time to enjoy the beautiful views of the surrounding area.

After your breakfast, take a walk to Sipi falls which is regarded as Uganda's romantic falls. Sipi Falls consists of 3 waterfalls, each flowing from a different altitude. A hike that takes 3 hrs will reward you with a beautiful scenic view of the local communities, farmlands, coffee plantations and other surrounding areas.
After hiking, return to Lacam Lodge for lunch
After lunch, embark on a coffee processing tour on the slopes of Mountain Elgon. Stroll through the fields of a coffee farm in the highlands, plucking ripe berries with your own hands. You’ll learn about every stage of the production process, from growing to roasting, by our local experts who’ll take you on a walk-through a scenic farm, explain how the slopes of Mountain Elgon make the world’s best coffee, and show you how to brew a delicious cup.
After, return to the lodge for Dinner.

After breakfast, leave the stunning views of Sipi Falls in the morning and start the journey to Moroto. You will take the journey off the beaten track by going through the tribes, hopping for a market day to visit the tribes. It’s a very remote area with a scenic view, local people, markets in the most untouched area and remote villages.
Life in a Karamojong village:
On arrival, you will be guided through the village and immersed into the Karamojong culture which revolves around cattle. You will also have a look as they show off traditional hairstyles, worn by girls who are nearing adulthood, unique necklaces and unique traditional clothing called "Lesu".
A Night with the Warriors in the Kraal:
In the evening, join the migrated mobile cattle camps, referred to as Kraal or "ngawiyoi" in the local language as you immerse yourself in the true nomadic life experience of the Karamojong culture. You will lead the cows together with the shepherds from the grazing area to the kraal, help to milk the cows, witness how blood is gotten from the cow to make “Echarakan” (Karamojong delicious meals) and of course listen to the unforgettable amazing ancient cattle stories from elders.
Spend a night in the tents near the kraal or you can decide to go back to your lodge / accommodation.

After breakfast you depart from Moroto to visit the traditional cattle market only if you depart on Sunday. This is one of the big markets where the Karamojong buy and sell cattle. Here you see cattle auctions and also get a chance to shop colourful bead jewellery and other traditional crafts in the market.
Transfer to Kidepo Valley NP:
After morning breakfast, you will drive through remote semi-arid Savannah Plains, framed by small wooded hills and rocky outcrops through panoramic views of Narus River to enter Kidepo National Park.
On arrival, prepare your cameras for great photographic opportunities of wildlife and the beautiful scenery as you take a late afternoon game-drive through the park. You might see the big cats, like the lion, Leopard and Cheetah, elephants, herds of buffaloes, Jackson’s hartebeest, klipspringer and birds like Common Ostrich. You will even watch the sunsets over the plains before going back to the Lodge for Dinner.

On this day after your breakfast, you will take a two hour drive through a scenic drive to visit a small minority tribe of IK people on mountain Morungole. With the help of a knowledgeable local guide you will be guided through the clouds at the top of mount Morungole to meet the IK people. The IK are believed to have arrived from Ethiopia and are one of the indigenous tribes in Africa. They are well known for their love for the environment and their unique cultural heritage.
After your experience with Uganda's mysterious tribe you will set off for Kidepo Valley National Park.

After breakfast, you will start your day by watching the morning sunrise over the plains. You will then embark on a game drive through the plains to have a wildlife safari experience in true wilderness. You will explore Narus Valley, well known to host most animals in the park as it is the only permanent water source in the park. You might see the big cats if you're lucky among other wildlife and birds.
In the afternoon, Meet your ranger to guide you on the trails for a nature walk. The nature walk will get you more close to wildlife and this will give you a chance to enjoy an authentic wilderness experience in the park. You will have a clear panoramic view of the Valley and Kidepo Plains, mountains, and flat plains of valleys. On your walk you will encounter buffaloes, giraffes, zebras as well as birds notably the Common Ostrich.

Today we shall check out and embark on a long drive back to Kampala. Approximately 8 to 9 hours drive. We can have a stopover in Gulu to break off the long journey to Kampala. Depending on your departure schedule you are dropped off at your preferred dropoff point or at the airport for your flight back home.
